Board of Directors

Bill Twist, Co-Founder, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors
Basil R. Twist, Jr. (Bill), is a founder of The Pachamama Alliance ("TPA") and has been President and Chairman of the Board of Directors since TPA''s inception. Bill has an extensive background in business having worked in the management consulting business and then in the equipment leasing and financial services industries since 1970. He was the senior vice-president for financial services for Comdisco, a New York Stock Exchange company, and served on its Board of Directors from 1980 to 1990. He is the President of Champion Securities Company, an NASD registered broker-dealer that develops software and financial products for the investment industry, and he is on the Board of Directors of the Centro Economicos Derechos y Sociales in Ecuador, an NGO working on economic and social rights issues in the Andes countries in South America. Bill has a bachelors degree in engineering from Stanford University and a master''s degree in business administration from Northwestern University.

Lynne Twist, Co-Founder and Board Member
Lynne Twist, global activist, fundraiser, speaker, consultant and author, has devoted her life to service in support of eradicating hunger and poverty, global sustainability and security, human rights, economic integrity and spiritual authenticity.  She has raised hundreds of millions of dollars and trained thousands of fundraisers to be more effective in their work for organizations that are committed to ending hunger, empowering women, nurturing children and youth and contributing to the creation of a world view of equity and sustainability for all life. Lynne, an original staff member of The Hunger Project in 1977, served as a leader of that international initiative for 20 years, including responsibility for raising the money necessary to support it and its programs. She is the author of the book, The Soul of Money: Transforming your Relationship with Money and Life, published by W.W. Norton.  Those ideas are the foundation of a series of workshops that she produces through her Soul of Money Institute. She is president of the Turning Tide Coalition, a gathering of like-minded organizations committed to global sustainability.  She is a trustee of the John E. Fetzer Institute and is vice-chair of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, and a member of numerous other non-profit boards. 

David Tucker, Executive Director
David Tucker has been on staff with The Pachamama Alliance since 1999, serving as Executive Director since 2001. Prior to joining Pachamama, he managed a successful state senate campaign in Massachusetts, facilitated vision quest experiences for adjudicated youth in the Arizona dessert and served 2 years in the Peace Corps. David has been bridging the global North and South for over a decade, leads Pachamama journeys to South America and is a committed student of indigenous earth-based wisdom.

Jon Love, Awakening The Dreamer Program Director
Jon Love was instrumental in the development of the entire Awakening The Dreamer Program, starting on a consulting basis, and now serving as Program Director. Jon is also a consultant, working with the United Nations as a leading transformation expert and facilitator whose work is focused on ending the AIDS epidemic in Africa. Jon has a particular interest and area of expertise in the arena of energy use, and was instrumental in starting a think tank in the San Francisco Bay area, the Bay Area Peak Oil Group.

Tatiana Tilley, Operations Director
Tatiana Tilley is the Director of Operations for The Pachamama Alliance, and manages the overall operations, including finance and accounting, human resources, volunteer and program management. She has extensive project design, implementation and management practice, as well as grass-roots organizing experience from educational research projects in Africa, teaching programs in the Far East, and development consulting work in Central Asia. Tatiana has a degree in anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley.

Patricia Usner, Managing Director
Pat Usner has served as Development Director for The Pachamama Alliance since 2004. Prior to joining the staff, she was President of Usner & Associates Impact Consulting, a strategic marketing and public relations firm.  Her background includes more than 25 years of experience in developing and implementing communications and marketing plans that help organizations achieve their strategic goals. She served as Vice President of Marketing and Public Affairs at Pennsylvania Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, and Director of Public Relations for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Pat served on the faculty of the American College of Healthcare Executives.  She was President of the professional organization that is now the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development. She is a Fellow of that organization, and is Accredited in Public Relations (APR) through the Public Relations Society of America.
