National Preservation Institute (NPI)
Mechanism of Operation

NPI is a member of the Conservation and Preservation Charities of America (CPCA), a federation of national organizations working to protect and restore the earth’s natural environment and historic treasures through workplace giving campaigns. CPCA member agencies work around the world in areas that promote conservation, preservation, and environmental stewardship. The CPCA campaign is included in the Combined Federal Campaign; United Way campaigns; state employee campaigns; municipal, county, and university campaigns; and other independent corporate campaigns. For information about the CPCA, go to www.conservenow.org.

Through the CPCA, NPI is a participant in the annual Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) campaign. The mission of the CFC is to support and to promote philanthropy through a program that is employee-focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. The CFC campaign is the only authorized solicitation of employees in the federal workplace on behalf of charitable organizations. For information about the CFC, go to www.opm.gov/cfc.

Also, through the CPCA, NPI is able to participate in the United Way of America campaign. This national organization is dedicated to leading the United Way movement in making a measurable impact in every community across America. The United Way movement includes approximately 1,400 community-based United Way organizations. Each is independent, separately incorporated, and governed by local volunteers. For information about the United Way, go to www.national.unitedway.org
