"Ho-Sum" is Cantonese and literally translates into "good heart". It is a term normally used to describe a kind-hearted, generous person.
Ho-Sum is a registered non-profit organisation. We are exempt from tax under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance, and a member of the Hong Kong Council of Social Services.
Ho-Sum is dedicated to involve people in volunteering and increase awareness of charities in Hong Kong. We highlight our mission with the slogan "Do Good Feel Good".
Quote from Abraham Lincoln
"When I do good, I feel good; when I do bad, I feel bad, and that is my religion."
We believe the power of information technology and the Internet can benefit the whole process of volunteering. The website www.Ho-Sum.org is designed to be a user-friendly online meeting place for volunteers and credible charities in Hong Kong. Charities can describe their services and post projects to recruit volunteers. Interested volunteers can easily search for projects and click JOIN button to enroll. Ho-Sum service is at no cost for both parties.
