Arab Human Rights Activists on the Threshold of
  a New Century
3-5 December 1999 - Morocco Between the end of a century and the beginning of a new century’s aspirations, the Arab movement for human rights witnesses various functional, structural and theoretical problems in a world where human rights has become an issue of vital necessity for humanity. This implies that Arab human rights activists will have to embark on a frank and courageous dialogue for a precise examination of the nature and character of the present phase of development and the activists’ role whether on local, Arab, or international levels.
   “RABAT DECLARATION”

APHRA & ACHR Arab Human Rights Activists
24-26 January 2001 - France The philosophy behind the conference of the Arab Human Rights Activists and Organizations in Exile was a pioneer idea that works on gathering efforts to dissect the problems facing these Organizations and Activists outside their national borders, as well as presenting new legal and practical visions in order to work on solving these dilemma on one hand, and linking these Organizations with the inside homelands on the other hand.

  APHRA & ACHR
  Arab Human Rights Female Activists
Between the Institutional and Political Reality
12-15 December 2001 - France One of the Arab Program For Human Rights Activists’ main concerns, since it was founded, was uncovering and combating the violations against Females in general, and the Female Activists in specific. Throughout the course of the “APHRA’s” action, it was noted that Arab Females are subjected to numerous violations and from numerous sources. For example, they are subjected to Legal, Social and Cultural discriminations that reflect and find a paved way in the Arab Male Culture. What shocked the “APHRA” was the status of the Arab Female Human Rights Activists within the Legal and Arab Human Rights Institutions themselves. The Arab Female Activists usually take the secretarial positions, as well as the Archiving procedures. It is very rare to see a Female Activist having a managerial position in an Arab Human Rights Organization. The situation is nothing but an implementation and a tool of strengthening our Male culture. Of course the Women’s Organizations are exceptions in this case, since they are usually founded and run by females.
