Missions of the CIEDE:

The CIEDE assures some complementary activities to those of institutions and Administrations implied in domains of the energy and the climate changes. its mission is centered on the organization, the collection, the analysis and the diffusion of the information relating to uses of the energy and its rational uses, to the rational utilization of the natural resources (forest, wood-energy…) and their multiple impacts on the environment (broadcasts of GES…). Also the CIEDE contributes some activities on sensitization and exchange of experiences with regard the energy and environment issues.

The CIEDE circulates, near its partners, all information on the evolution of the negotiations related to the climate change and sustainable development and demystifies, through specific bulletins, the relevant indicators related to the triptych of Energy - Development - Environment and the criteria of eligibility of the new mechanisms of co-operation and financing to the attention of its institutional and private partners.

The CIEDE is based on a close cooperation with the services of the Ministry of Land Planning, Water and Environment (MATEE) and CDER and on an interactive institutional partnership through the National Committees for Climate Change (CNCC, CNST-CC), civil society and international co-operation, to create the natural framework of exchange and dialogue to allow the radiation of knowledge and their impacts on the national and regional level.

The CIEDE has a rich experience with regards the management of projects through the UNDP project ‘RAB/94/G31'' on the regional capacity building on climate change (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia) where CIEDE were created on the level of the three countries and which are called to collaborate and exchange in a network and also through other international projects such Iris-Kyoto, SOLATERM, or MED-ENEC with the European Commission.
