PAWLA was registered as a Non-Governmental Organization on 18th July 1981 with the Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Sindh, under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance 1961 (XLVI of 1961). It has been providing services of legal aid, legal awareness, law reforms and combating violence and rehabilitating women is the cornerstone of PAWLA''s goal.
