The South Eastern Region Migrant Resource Centre is a non profit community based agency that has been in operation for over 14 years. The MRC provides services to all migrants and refugees living in the south eastern region of Melbourne, covering the local government areas of City of Greater Dandenong, City of Casey and Shire of Cardinia and surrounding areas.
The centre is governed by a Board of Directors, who are volunteers from migrant communities and or local agencies. The Board provides governance and sets the strategic directions for the organisation.
Our services included aged care services, settlement services, family services, youth services, community education projects and accredited training for service providers.The Migrant Resource Centre consults regularly with the community to learn about various client needs and issues.
The MRC also provides support, information and consultations to committees, groups and meetings at regional, State and Commonwealth levels. The MRC also provides cross-cultural training to agencies and government departments on request. The MRC also provides support and assistance to new and emerging community groups and assists with office accommodation and the use of MRC facilities.
The MRC works within the framework of a 3 year Strategic Plan, and a Cultural Action plan. We are an accredited quality assurance agency under SAI Global as ISO:9001. We are also a registered training organisation.
Currently we have 48 office-based staff, full time and part time, 198 bilingual personal workers and 90 volunteers across the agency, working in different teams.
