Since its official formation in 1997, WMF has accomplished the following:
1. Conducted innovative research and developed new methodologies.
2. Provided a forum for the exchange of ideas and information through a bilingual newsletter.
3. Organized seminars and film shows and discussions.
4. Organized annual commemorative conferences of pioneer Egyptian women.
5. Produced publications in a variety of formats including academic books, children’s storybooks, occasional papers, newsletters, republished out-of-print texts.
6. Wrote gender-sensitive fairy tales and feminist stories.
7. Disseminated gender-sensitive themes and ideas through various venues such as conferences, workshops, seminars, publications, storytelling, gender-training, newspapers, radio and television.
8. Initiated the establishment of an oral history library of Egyptian women.
9. Established links and conducted joint research and activities with other local, regional and international research groups.
