The Monitoring and Research Programme evaluates the planning, expenditure and performance of the following major service delivery departments of the Eastern Cape government: Education, Health, Housing and Social Development. The programme produces the following outputs: Budget Analyses, Strategic Plan Evaluations, Expenditure Tracking Reports, Performance Monitoring Reports (including Service Delivery Reports), Integrity System Evaluations, Accountability to Oversight Reports, Scorecards and occasional research reports and case studies. These outputs are widely disseminated via press statements, opinion pieces and radio and television interviews. In addition, researchers in the programme engage with civil society for purposes of enhancing accountability and the realisation of socio-economic rights.
