Leaders of Tomorrow LOT
History and Background

The Vancouver Board of Trade''s Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Mentorship Program brings together post-secondary students and industry experts to develop the leadership and managerial skills of Vancouver''s future business leaders.

Through the generous donations of our sponsors, LOT selects the top 75 students in their final year from a number of post-secondary institutions. Once accepted into the program, Vancouver''s future business leaders develop their skills further in Mentorship, Volunteerism, Networking & Leadership.

Mentorship: Mentors dedicate 20 hours over the course of the one-year program to the mentees. The primary goal is to advocate for constructive change and positive growth. Volunteer mentors nurture talents and equip tomorrow’s community and business leaders with positive life skills.

Volunteerism: Under the guidance of Spirit of Vancouver® at The Board of Trade and The Board’s Committee’s and Task Forces, mentees explore current key issues and partake in community partners'' projects. LOT contributes a total of 9,000 volunteer hours per year.

Networking: Mentees receive a one-year membership to The Board of Trade, giving them access to over 500 events hosted each year.  LOT also hosts over 25 events including industry expert roundtables, an orientation night, career fairs, a graduation ceremony, socials, joint events with The Company of Young Professionals (CYP) and more!

Leadership: The program equips LOT students with business cards, recommended readings, access to keynote speakers, group projects and so much more. Mentees develop social capital and engagement skills that will shape the pulse of Vancouver’s future.
