Baptist World Aid Australia was formed in 1959 to help manage funds and goods for distribution amongst refugees. Today, Baptist World Aid Australia supports SAO Child Sponsorship and community development projects in over twelve countries across Africa and Asia. We also contribute to relief in emergency situations around the world.

Baptist World Aid Australia is accountable to the Baptist Union of Australia (www.baptist.org.au), as well as ACFID (the Australian Council for International Development). ACFID is the peak body for nearly 100 Australian non-government aid and development organisations. We are compliant signatories to the ACFID Code of Conduct that requires members to maintain high standards of corporate governance, public accountability and financial management.
Baptist World Aid Australia is also fully accredited with AusAID, making us eligible to receive funding from the Australian Government. AusAID accreditation ensures agencies are accountable, well managed and deliver quality outcomes.
