The Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS)
Activities and Programs

For almost 20 years, the ACUNS Secretariat has been working on events, programs, and publications that focus attention on issues concerning the United Nations system. ACUNS often partners with individuals, groups or institutions with expertise in international relations. To discuss possible partnerships, please e-mail ACUNS.

Annual Meetings
All ACUNS members are invited to attend our Annual Meetings, which serve as a unique opportunity to present and discuss UN-focused research and policy. The Annual Meetings are held in different locations around the world, often returning back to New York and UN headquarters.

The ACUNS Annual Meetings draw approximately 150 scholars and academics, and is traditionally supported by an institutional member in each location.

It is ACUNS’ great privilege to hold our 22nd annual meeting on campus at The University of the West Indies (UWI) in Trinidad.

 ACUNS/ASIL Summer Workshop
Each year, ACUNS hosts a summer workshop on international organization studies, teaching, and research for advanced graduate students, younger scholars, lawyers, and UN practitioners, sponsored with the American Society of International Law. Additional information on the ACUNS/ASIL Summer Workshops can be found on the ACUNS/ASIL Workshops page.

ACUNS Dissertation Award Program
As part of its mandate to foster innovation and excellence in research and writing about the United Nations, the U.N. system and the field of international organizations studies, ACUNS offers an annual Dissertation Award. ''
