Bioneers is inspiring a shift to live on Earth in ways that honor the web of life, each other and future generations. Founded in 1990, Bioneers promotes practical environmental solutions and innovative social strategies for restoring Earth’s imperiled ecosystems and healing our human communities.
We act as a forum, featuring a rich ecology of diverse approaches within a broadly progressive framework. We serve as a hub of communications and education, as well as of networks, movements and ideas.
We take a systemic "solve-the-whole-problem" approach. Taking care of nature means taking care of people, and taking care of people means taking care of nature. We connect the dots among most areas of human endeavor including environment, health, justice and spirit.
We move our mission into action through the following programs: the acclaimed annual Bioneers Conference, in its 19th year in 2008; Beaming Bioneers, a companion program of community-based satellite conferences across the US; the Bioneers Youth Program; the award-winning national and international radio series, Bioneers: Revolution from the Heart of Nature; television programming and other media productions, including third-party documentaries; our Web site; the Bioneers anthology book series; and three other year-round programs, Ecological Food and Farming, Dreaming New Mexico, and Women’s Leadership. In addition, Bioneers acts as a key source for journalists.
