History :
The Center for Strategic Studies was founded in 1984 as an academic unit in the Jordanian University to carry out Studies and researches in the fields of regional disputes, security, international relations and social, economic and political development.

Mission Statement :
1. Carrying out studies and researches on the political, economic and security issues that concern Jordan, and which affect the security and future of the region.
2. Focusing on Israeli and Palestinian studies and their impact on Jordan.
3. Collecting information, studies and reports that support the goals of the center.
4. Keeping up with the latest intellectual, social, economic, political and security tendencies worldwide, and disseminating them through lectures, seminars and conferences.
5. Founding area studies like American, European, Israeli, African, Asian and Chinese studies in collaboration with the university's faculties and departments.
6. Making the information and the results of the center's researches and studies available to the concerned authorities using the appropriate mean.
7. Finding out the inclinations of the Jordanian public opinion through carrying out studies and researches on the data collected from regular public opinion surveys.
