The Division of Conference Management (DCM) of the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), as one of the largest conference centres in Europe, provides the physical infrastructure, as well as the conference expertise required to ensure that conference events are properly planned, scheduled and serviced.
In accordance with the guidelines established by the various legislative authorities of the United Nations General Assembly, managers, interpreters, translators, editors, conference assistants and technicians ensure the smooth running of the meetings on a daily basis.
Within the Division, Central Planning and Coordination Service plans and coordinates the meetings and documentation processes; the Interpretation Service provides simultaneous interpretation in six languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish); the Languages Service is responsible for the translation of documents into the United Nations official languages and the Publishing Service, composed of three Sections, plays an active role in publishing the United Nations documentation. All the activities of the Division are supported by the necessary adequate information technology.
Year after year, Conference Services continues contributing to the enhancement of conference activities in cooperation with the other UNOG services and International Organizations in Geneva and other locations.
