Over the years, AMWA has played an essential role in the education and encouragement of women physicians, and has helped countless women succeed and become leaders in the field of medicine.
 
When we reflect on our long and distinguished history, we see that our contribution to the field of medicine is remarkable. From awards and scholarships for deserving women, to direct support of clinics for the medically underserved, and professional and public education to improve women''s health care, AMWA truly has made a difference.

Despite the many advances made by women over AMWA''s 90 years, we know that there are enormous challenges yet ahead in both professional equity and women''s health care. There is so much more to be accomplished and, as the vision and voice of women in medicine, AMWA will continue working with women in all specialties and career stages to advance women in medicine and improve women''s health for many years to come.
