Conferences, Seminars and Public Lectures

ISEAS has an active programme of conferences, seminars and public lectures, organized independently or in collaboration with other research institutes and organizations. The scope of these meetings ranges from major international gatherings to informal discussion groups.  Major regular events are the Singapore Lecture, the Asia and Pacific Lecture, the ASEAN Roundtable, the APEC Roundtable, the Regional Outlook Forum, and the Regional Strategic & Political  Developments Forum. The Trends in Southeast Asia seminar series cover recent and current political, security, economic, and social developments in Southeast Asian Countries..

As part of the Institute''s mission to contribute to the intellectual life of Singapore, ISEAS organizes the Singapore Lecture, the Asia and Pacific Lecture, and other public lectures.

Singapore Lecture

The Singapore lecture, inaugurated in 1980, is designed to provide an opportunity for distinguished statesmen and leaders of thought and knowledge to reach a wider audience in Singapore.  The presence of such eminent persons allows Singaporeans, especially younger executives and decision-makers in both the private and public sectors, the benefit of exposure to leading world figures who address topics of international and regional interest.

Asia and Pacific Lecture

The Asia and Pacific Lecture series was launched in May 1997 as part of the continuing effort of ISEAS to contribute to the intellectual life of Singapore.  The speakers are leading political leaders and technocrats, outstanding entrepreneurs and businessmen, and eminent scholars and professionals from the Asia-Pacific region

Training and Briefings

ISEAS has conducted short-term training programmes on ASEAN and East Asia. It is also engaged in regional research capacity-building through the hosting of regional researchers and trainees and bilateral programmes with select institutes in the region. It also conducts frequent briefings on Singapore, Southeast Asia and ASEAN, and the Asia-Pacific and APEC.
