The Petra Forum for Cultural Awareness  and Heritage Preservation, or “QAWAFEL”, is a Jordanian NGO that aims to increase youth’s participation in society.

We are proud of our Jordanian heritage, and we focus on passing on this heritage, introducing it to the world to give a clear idea about our culture and civilization, and highlighting Jordan’s contribution to the world’s cultural heritage.
 
Since we believe that youngsters are essential elements in society, our intention is to support their talents and creativity by giving them the opportunity to be engaged in the cultural process and in intercultural dialogue around the world.

QAWAFEL supports dialogue among cultures and promotes respect for others’ opinions, regardless of color, religion or political views.

We aim to fulfill these objectives by organizing conferences and seminars to promote cultural dialogue, and by participating in activities and events held at local and international levels

Objectives

1. Give a definition of the civilization and cultural heritage of Jordan and highlight the contribution of Jordan to the cultural heritage of the world.

2. Promote tourism awareness and education for young people by highlighting the role of tourism in Jordan''s heritage and culture.

3. Encourage the community to engage in the cultural process.

4. Increase awareness of the absolute need to preserve the environment.

5. Protect the heritage from vandalism, which threatens its existence and continuation.

6. Support dialogue between cultures and peoples, and promote the principle of respect for others'' opinions.

7. Support the talent and creativity of youth.

8. Offer young people the opportunity to participate in cultural activities and strengthen their spirit of initiative
