Sudanese Organization for Education Development (SOED) is an NGO working to achieve the UN Millennium Development Goals objectives of providing education for all children by the year 2015, and guarantee equal opportunities for girls in education.It has been officially registered with HAC in 2006.
Objectives
SOED strives to achieve the following objectives:
Raise the awareness with the importance of education among the rural dwellers
Put pressure on the decision makers to implement the child protection laws and its right for education
Exert pressure to prevent the employment of children under 14 years during school hours.
Exert pressure to activate the concept of "obligatory Education" and make the family obliged to send the child to school, and the government obliged to provide the free schooling
Help to plan for building new schools and support the existing ones in rural and war affected areas
Conduct the researches and studies to develop education ones in rural and war affected areas
Campaign to establish Basic School Pupils Supporting Fund
Strive to provide educational opportunities for homeless children and poor children living in Khartoum and major towns
Fight for equal education opportunities for girls in rural and war affected areas
Train teachers and provide books for schools in rural and war affected areas
