About IOCO
Iraqi Orphan Care Organisation (IOCO) is a non-governmental organisation, dedicated to provide shelter, food, health and education to underprivileged children, such as:
• Orphans
• Handicapped orphaned children
Providing help to the carer or families who will be looking after the orphan(s)
IOCO was established due to a tragedy situation in Iraq because of the injustice policy of the former regime. This policy left hundred of thousands needy and unguarded children, these children need to be protected and treated with other problems by giving shelter or to help get close to their families and to support them or to comfort them in reaching a healthy normal life.
The organisation has established by a number of educated Iraqis who keep a good relationship with the Iraqi authorities and other Iraqi Foundations inside and outside of Iraq .
Our Aims
Iraqi Orphan care Organisation believes that underprivileged orphan children are the weakest people in Iraq society and need our help. They have been suffering throughout the last 35 years due the unfair policy used by the former regime. This regime executed hundred of thousands of Iraqis and has caused in killing more than two millions by three unreasonable wars. This tragic situation created thousands of orphans who have no parents or guardians, remaining homeless or living in great poverty as well as hundred thousands of widows in poverty.
Orphans and Widows are all over the Iraqi cities. Most of these children need to be protected by organisation to help them return to their normal lives. Our organisation (IOCO) was founded to achieve these aims as follows:
• To relieve poverty amongst the iraqi orphans and widows, By providing a direct financial support. Creating serviced centers to improve their education and social level.
• To advance the skills of the widows and orphans by through the training coursed designed for children 16 years and over.
• To provide medical care and mental and/or physical treatment by establishing a medical and health entrees.
• Providing facilitated recreation to improve the conditions of the orphans way of life. Through out summer holidays. There will be outings and trips to various sites in the land of iraq.
• Showing ways to become self-reliant and aware of their fundamental rights.
• Establish a research Centrex for Children and widows affair and general issues.
• Issue monthly magazine reflecting the news and issues of widows and orphans.
