The association was founded in 2 June 1998 in accordance with law 154 of the year 1959, issued on 7 November 1959 which is concerned with associations, and which was amended by the principal law 90 of the year 1988, issued on 2 August 1992 and law 25 of the year 1992, issued on 2 April 1992.
- It’s a non-governmental organization which has a development nature.
- It’s ran by a directing committee of 8 members from which a president ,a vice-president,, a treasurer, a general secretary and four members.
- The SDI has the status types decided by the Home office in accordance with the organic law of November the 7th 1959.
- The SDI has an interior regulation in order to organize its activities and those of its members.
- The SDI’s registered office is located in Ariana –Taieb Residence – Bloc A Independence Avenue 2080 Ariana.
- The SDI’s strategy is « for an involved, ascending and joint local development ».
- The SDI’s intervention areas are among the deprived areas of the    regions of Ariana , Kasserine, and Tozeur.

The Objectives :

1- Participating in the National effort for the development of farmers and craftsmen’s income services by the means of animation, popularization and theoretical and practical training.
2- Participating in the support of the craftsmen’s economic activities in order to improve their means of exploitation and production.
3- contributing in the realization of national objectives in the domain of economic development of the deprived population in order to increase their income through development projects and micro-credits (SIB).
4- To put into concrete form such objectives we should necessarly go through the realization of the integrated development projects that aim to :
a- The animation and development of deprived population.
b- The promotion of rural women.
c- Farmers and craftsmen’s self development.
d- Supporting the youth in the professional insertion .
e- The protection and the safeguard of environment.
f-The realization of micro-projects through the micro-credits system of the (S.T.B)
