May R. Berenbaum, Ph.D., President
Head of Entomology Department, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Berenbaum is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She is also a well known author with over one hundred scientific articles and dozens of popular science pieces, including several books.

Sacha H. Spector, Secretary
Manager, Invertebrate Conservation Program, Center for Biodiversity and Conservation, American Museum of Natural History; Adjunct Assistant Professor/Adjunct Research Associate, Department of Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Biology, Columbia University. Sacha has written many scientific and popular articles on invertebrate conservation and also serves on the IUCN Species Survival Commission, Invertebrate Conservation Sub-committee.

Linda Craig, CPA, CFP, Treasurer
Shareholder in the Portland accounting firm, Brown/Armstrong. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Financial Planning Association. She has been the President of the Board of Directors of Portland Audubon and is a member of the Board of Directors of 1000 Friends Foundation. She serves as an appointed member of the Clean Water Services Advisory Commission in Washington County, the Energy Loan Program Advisory Committee for the State of Oregon, and the Planned Giving Council for Oregon Health Sciences University Foundation.


Scott E. Miller, Ph.D.
Acting Chairman, Department of Systematic Biology, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.  He has published over 117 research publications in systematics, biogeography, and ecology. Previously, he led the Natural Science Department and Hawaii Biological Survey at Bishop Museum (Hawaii) and the Biodiversity and Conservation Programme at the International Centre of Insect Ecology and Physiology (Kenya).

Marla Spivak, Ph.D.
Professor of Apiculture and Social Insects, University of Minnesota, Department of Entomology. Marla Spivak is considered one of the world’s authorities on honey bees. She conducts both applied and basic research, and has bred a disease-resistant honey bee that is used widely. She was a past-president of the International Union for the Study of Social Insects’ North American Section, and a trustee of the Foundation for the Preservation of Honey Bees.
