Flat Holm Island is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, Geological Conservation Review Site and Local Nature Reserve. Education, conservation and buildings management go hand in hand. Home to one of the largest Lesser Black Backed Gull colonies in Wales and home to the rare Wild Leek.
3. Leatherback Turtle Conservation in Costa Rica and Panama
Volunteers are needed at the Pacuare Reserve in Costa Rica and in Panama to help protect endangered Leatherback turtles. Volunteers assist with tagging, beach patrols, nest protection and monitoring of hatching success and all training is provided.
4. Conservation Volunteering in St Lucia - Caribbean
An ideal project for conservationists and field biologists. Volunteers can join for a 3 months period, starting from February 2007. Work will be hard but rewarding and it is a great way to make a vital difference to species conservation.

Amigos de las Aves is a Costa Rican non profit organization dedicated to the conservation of the two endangered species of macaws found in Costa Rica. Activity is concentrated on breeding and re-introduction into their native habitat at designated release sites. The Organisation also runs a refuge with various endemic birds.

California Wildlife Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife. Since 1998 CWC has responded to over 10,000 wildlife emergencies in Los Angeles County for a variety of species: from raptors and songbirds to pelicans, sea lions, coyotes, deers.

A sanctuary that rescues and rehabilitates native wild animals taken from unsuitable captive environments. Aims of the project include: confiscation of animals from illegal markets; rehabilitation where possible; education and awareness to prevent illegal trading of wildlife.
12. Ecology and Conservation of Deer in Patagonia, Argentina
The project objectives are to estimate population density and determine the reproductive status, health condition, predation by puma and habitat use of red deer in southern Patagonia. Population surveys of endangered deer are conducted as well.
