About Our Programs

GVI takes every conceivable step to ensure that all the volunteer programmes we run are safe and enjoyable for all volunteers. GVI also take every possible measure to ensure all the volunteer programmes we run are necessary and worthwhile. Setting up new projects is a lengthy process. We need to ensure that our project partners are acting in the best interests of the community and the environment. We also have to be certain that volunteers are needed on the ground and that the aims of the project are measurable and, most importantly, achievable in the long term.

Part of the GVI mission is to support our project partners and help them achieve their aims and objectives. We do this by supplying our project partners with paying volunteers, which creates additional funding and manpower for them. Some of our project partners are known globally, whilst others are small grassroots organisations. The size and prestige of our partners is not important, but their long term commitment to a cause is paramount.

GVI has certain requirements of its partners and all these are checked and verified before new programmes begin. After being approached by potential partners GVI will hold discussions and meetings to assess our partners, their aims and our compatibility. GVI receives hundreds of applications each year from potential partners. However, not all partnerships are suitable for GVI as they may not match our strict requirements and, on occasion, GVI may not be the most appropriate organisation for potential partners. GVI are duty bound to recognise this as we have an obligation to offer our partners exactly what they need.
