9 Community Participation to prevent violence

Goal of this project:
1.Extend information on human rights to larger groups in the localities, upgrade the participation skills gained by the citizens, particularly the youth, during the first phase of the project and sustain their ability to influence public decisions. 2.Strengthen and sustain the mothers'' ability to interrupt the process of joining terrorist groups among their youth, and consolidate a group of mothers who can become trainers in this respect. 3.Integrate the formal and informal tribal leadership systems to harmonize the messages influencing youth behavior. 4.Strengthen the NGOs unions in North and South Sinai to become the principal structures for planning, seeking funds, monitoring, coordinating and sustaining NGOs work in the governorate. 5.Further and sustain the upgrading of the community services delivery systems to meet more effectively the changing needs of the citizens particularly the women and youth. 6.Empower the population, particularly women and youth to participate in the 2010 election for the parliament.
10 Women''s Political Empowerment Project

Goal of this project:
The Alliance for Arab Women (hereinafter, AAW) is managing a project to train and support 20 women candidates who will run for the 2010 People''s Assembly''s elections and 10 campaign managers, who will manage the campaigns of the female candidates. The campaign managers'' training is taking place on two phases. The first phase took place in Cairo on 7-8 November, 2009; and the second phase took place in London in 7-9 December, 2009. The training is done in cooperation with the Labour Party and the Conservative Party of the United Kingdom.
This project aims to further structure the profession of campaign management in Egypt and of elections to be a process based on the science of management, politics and public policy. Participants to theses trainings are expected to be able to work on elections'' campaigns structuring, political awareness and women''s political participation.
11 Training and employment of women heads of families

The project aims to improve the economic situation of families headed by women in Qaliubiya governorate
This will be done by training a number of women involved in supporting their families on skills needed in employment in the labor market in the Qaliubiya governorate.
Also, the project wil target providing employment opportunities for women that have been rehabilitated for the labor market.
