The Peace Boat is a Japanese NGO in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. The Boat set sail for the first time in 1983 carrying activists to more than 100 ports around the world. The mission of the Boat is to establish a network among peoples and NGOs in the five continents committed to promoting a new culture of peace.
