Society’s Principal Achievements:
1-February 2001: Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society organized the first forum for businesswomen in Bahrain.
2-In April 2002 BBS was honored to participate in the Women and the Law Conference by being assigned the preparation and organisation duties.
3-BBS represented the Kingdom of Bahrain at many international conferences and forums the most important of which were the following:
- The Arab Businesswomen Forum in Kuwait in 2001.
- A presentation held by HE Mrs. Rafida Aziz, Malaysian Minister of Trade.
- The South Lebanon Forum, May 2001.
- A meeting with His Excellency the Prime Minister of Thailand, June 2002.
- The Businesswomen Forum in Dubai, October 2002.
- The Arab Businesswomen Board Conference in Egypt, September 2002.
4-BBS joined The Arab Businesswomen Board in September 2002.
5-The launch of WomenGateway: A joint Venture between BBS and Al Nadeem Information Technology to set up a portal concerned with all women’s requirements providing a directory of participating businesswomen in Bahrain, in GCC and the Arab world. Thus, Bahraini women have their established presence on the worldwide web. This project was launched in February 2003.
6-The Economy in Light of the Current and Future Events Conference from 13 – 15 may 2003: Organized by BBS under the patronage of Her Highness Shaikha Sabeeka bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa with Speakers from Malaysia, China, Lebanon, GCC states, Europe and the United States presenting a global vision of the economy and its relationship to the rapid developments of events in the region and the world in general.
