Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children, a registered Palestinian NGO located in Gaza City, has been working in the field of deaf education and allied services since 1992. Literally thousands of deaf children and adults and their families are served annually at Atfaluna through deaf education, audiology, speech therapy, income generating programs for the deaf, vocational training, parents', teachers’ and community training and awareness programs, and a host of other services and programs.
Atfaluna is a founding member and Gaza coordinator of the Community Development Association for the Hearing Impaired, an umbrella group with 14 founding member organizations in the West Bank and Gaza. During the past eleven years, a number of important training programs have been implemented by the CDA member organizations in Gaza, i.e. training of audiologists, training of hearing aid repair technicians, hearing aid fittings, ear mold technology, deaf educators, sign language training for teachers and the community, early childhood deaf education, and bi-lingual education for the deaf.
Atfaluna is the main referral and resource center for community-based rehabilitation centers, the Palestinian Authority Ministry of Health, UNRWA, and other non-governmental organizations in the Gaza Strip.

A disabled child is, first and foremost, a child, and must be accorded all the same rights as a non-disabled child. Atfaluna’s mission is to help deaf children and adults have their chance in life through education, rehabilitation and job training".
