Activities:
Events held by the Society in cooperation with the Arab Reform Forum at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina:
1) Workshop for the implementation of the recommendations of the Education Reform in Egypt Conference
The Arab Society for Reform and Development, in cooperation with the Arab Reform Forum at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, held a workshop featured by a number of experts in education reform issues in Egypt, who discussed the draft final report of the Education Reform Conference held in December 2004.
The workshop also focused on the most important issues of educational reform to be implemented within the coming two years, and to be presented to the executive officials in the form of reform proposals.
2) Workshop for the implementation of the recommendations of the Role of Youth in Modernization and Reform Conference.
The Arab Society for Reform and Development, in cooperation with the Arab Reform Forum at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, held a workshop entitled “Follow-Up on the Role of Youth in Modernization and Reform Conference”. The workshop aimed at following up the activities of the conference and discussed the first draft of the conference report.
The aim of the workshop was to review and discuss the conference report, to identify work priorities concerning the promotion of the role of youth in modernization and reform, and the expected achievements in the forthcoming two years. At the end of the workshop, the participating prepared a draft report to be submitted to official responsible.
3) Workshop for the preparation of “Problems of Scientific Research in the Arab World” Conference.
Among the activities pursued by the Arab Reform Forum, a workshop was held in preparation for a conference on the “Problems of Scientific Research in the Arab World”. Scientists and intellectuals concerned with scientific research issues in Egypt took part in this workshop, where they reviewed the conference themes. Discussions revolved around key issues, the participants’ views regarding the obstacles hindering the achievement of scientific development in the Arab World, potential aspects of cooperation among Arab nations in this field, and ideas to be discussed in the conference.
