3) PYALARA’s establishment, mission and objectives:
The Palestinian Youth Association for Leadership and Rights Activation - PYALARA, was established in 1999 in the occupied Palestinian territory (including the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip), as a youth organization. PYALARA’s main field of work includes: Specialized Youth Media and Youth Activation.
The cornerstone of PYALARA’s mission is ‘activation’. Through activation, PYALARA aims to provide alternatives to young Palestinians that protect them from being marginalized or neglected. Through providing a platform for expressing their rights and views and by enabling young Palestinians to help their peers, PYALARA contributes towards social revival. PYALARA channels and transforms the energy of young Palestinians into a constructive positive effort contributing to democratic nation building.
PYALARA mission:
PYALARA’s mission is to activate and empower young Palestinians aged 12-25 years. PYALARA equips young Palestinians with needed skills to enable them to address their issues, needs and rights and thus contribute towards democratic nation building.
PYALARA’s objectives:
1. Develop a new culture of independent and specialized media for young Palestinians.
2. Empower young Palestinians through equipping them with basic life skills such self-reliance, critical thinking, conflict resolution that will enable them to lead a healthy life style and play a constructive role in society.
