Organization’s history, background, and mission
Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), a rights-based organization, has been working in Lebanon since 1982 guided by the values of national and international solidarity, human dignity, participation, freedom and equality. NPA and its staff respect the rights for all, irrespective of gender, religion, social status, age, ethnicity or nationality. NPA is committed to maximising the integration and empowerment of marginalized people and its values constitute the framework for its activities.
NPA target group in Lebanon are the Palestinian refugees who suffer from social and economic exclusion as well as the poor Lebanese citizens afflicted by war, especially in the Lebanese Liberated areas in the south and western Bekaa valley.
NPA has been keen on expressing humanitarian and Political Solidarity to its target groups. Since the Palestinian refugees are not on their own land and are still considered as guests in Lebanon, NPA has concentrating on preserving and developing the human resources of the refugees.
