Philosophy and Principals:
All of the program activities will adhere to the following principles:
The Protection of the environment
• Stresses the importance of using environment friendly products.
• Encourages the recycling of materials.
• Draws attention to the environmental protection component into its activities.
Non-Discrimination
• To promote non-discriminatory against gender, disability, religion, ethnicity, socio-economic status or any other status.
Views of the Teenagers
• To respect the views of teenagers.
• To encourage teenagers to express their views with respect to themselves and others.
Gender/socio-cultural.
This project has been successful for the women’s movement mainly at the local level. This is reflected by the fact that 40% of the teenagers benefiting from the project are girls. Keeping in mind the Islamic outlook of the project, the achieved percentage of girls participation is very significant. In addition, these girls were used to staying at home as a result of the lack of out-of-school recreational activities along with their commitment to formal education activities. Taking into account that girls and boys are segregated, the projects’ activities provide a good chance for mutual understanding and positive interaction between the two genders by planting the seeds for positive social changes.
Ecological/technological.
The project highly enforces ecological awareness throughout all of its activities by adhering to the following principles:
• To stress the importance of environment friendly products.
• To encourage the recycling program.
• To incorporate the building awareness of the environment protection component into all of its activities.
This represents a contribution and cooperation of efforts that the Palestinian authorities and other NGO’s put in preserving the environment in the Gaza Strip.
Partly due to the dense population, working on ecological problems is seen as an important ongoing process in the Gaza Strip.
Most of the project activities familiarize the use of new technologies. The future of the Gaza Strip largely based on human resources (mainly due to the lack of other resources), therefore this project is a direct investment.
