A. Legal Status:
The Association is a non-profit non-governmental organization enjoying "public status" registered with the Ministry of Social Affairs in Cairo, Egypt under No.1010 for 1967. Its schools are registered and monitoring by the Ministry of Education. AUEED Is a member of the NGO committee affiliated to that Ministry.

B .General Assembly:
The General Assembly has 330 members who meet in a regular annual session to clear the officially audited general budget of the previous year, the forecasted budget for the following year and listens to the accomplishments of the various programs. The assembly elects the board of administration.

C. Board of Directors:
Made up of 11 members, the board is the governance body of the Association that decides on the policy and designs the strategic plan. It appoints the executive Director who is accountable to it. The board meets at least once per a month otherwise according to emergencies.

D. The Staff:
The Association has 1330 salaried staff, among them, 503 are part timers. The Cairo headquarters in addition to four regional offices in Upper Egypt have 132 staff members.
The Association's schools are operated by 698 teacher and administrators; In addition, the association has 500 field coordinators provide the Association's services to the grass root community.
The Association has some 80 volunteers helping in its various functions, especially local fundraising campaign
