The Center has been established as a specialized unit and research center on 30th of march 2002 at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science - Cairo University.
The center is thought to become the nucleus of a network for all academics, specialists and research centers concerned with Europe, in Egypt and in the Arab world.

The objectives of the activities of the center are twofold.

The first is to study the economic, political, institutional, social and cultural aspects of the European societies, as well as to analyze the transformations that have taken place in the different regions of the continent.

As for the second objective, it is to examine and evaluate the current relations between Europe and Egypt, as well as between Europe and the Arab States, which will be beneficial in the management of those relationships and which will help also in designing the Egyptian foreign policy towards Europe.
