Pakistan Foundation Fighting Blindness (PFFB)
History and Background

Founded in 1988, the Pakistan Foundation Fighting Blindness (PFFB), formerly known as the Pakistan Retinitis Pigmentosa Society (PREPS) is a registered national, non-governmental organisation (NGO) working in the field of medical research and humanitarian services for the visually impaired in our country. 

PFFB has been registered with the Registrar, Joint Stock Companies, Islamabad, under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration & Control) Ordinance 1961.  The Foundation is an approved organization under clause (36) of Section 2 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

The mission of PFFB is to find a cure for retinal degenerative diseases, in collaboration with other national RP organisations worldwide, working within the framework of the Retina International.

The Foundation is serving as a focal point for the dissemination of information to affected families, specialists and the society at large about genetically inherited eye diseases such as Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) and allied retinal dystrophies.
