The Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy, is an independent, non-profit, support organisation. It was established in August 2001 to lead philanthropy promotion in Pakistan.
Central to this promotion, remains the effort of mobilising resources from the private sector, in particular the corporate sector for development initiatives. In doing so, the Centre also supplements the government''s poverty reduction agenda.
The Centre does not engage in direct philanthropy. Instead it seeks to facilitate such efforts of others through support services. These services include action research, policy and legislative reviews and focussed strategies to ensure meaningful collaboration among stakeholders in the philanthropic arena. Key stakeholders are corporate and individual philanthropists, citizen organisations, communities and the government.
Our presence on the Governing Council of the 13 member Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium elevates us to a regional platform and also allows access to valued information resources. We in turn make an effort to share our knowledge, experience and resources to enrich action based decision-making of those who impact development.
