The Access Initiative (TAI) is the world’s largest network of civil society organizations working to ensure that citizens have the right and ability to influence decisions about the natural resources that sustain their communities. Working in their respective countries, TAI partners form national coalitions and assess the performance of their governments to provide the public with • access to information about government decisions, • public participation in decision-making, and • access to justice when their rights to information, participation, and a clean environment are violated. The right to obtain government information, right to participate in government decision-making and the right to seek justice are a bundle of valuable rights which we call ‘access rights.’
