Nama’a For Sustainable Development announces its annual "Summer Course for Sustainable Development" Connecting Disciplines & Cultures 25th of June – 20th of July 2006 The Summer Course introduces Egyptian students from all over Egypt to the concept and application of sustainable development. Through introducing new teaching and educational methods based on adapting, reshaping and applying knowledge and through an inter-disciplinary training for students with different backgrounds, the Summer Course meets the requirements of the labour market and responds to Egypt’s needs for creative and critical intellectuals. The four-week program tackles the following themes: - Economy: Markets and Societies
- Education: Learning for Change
- Environment: Natural Resources Management
- Governance: Thinking globally, acting locally
The conceptual framework of the program address: the Social Contract, Dialogue and International Cooperation, Sustainable Development, and Learning Techniques. In addition to field visits to on going development projects related to those themes.
