Orphans sponsoring program in UAE
No doubt the orphans sponsorship is highly rewarded as our Islamic Religion urges us to give due care to the orphans.
“…. Treat with kindness, your parents and kindred and orphans and those in need”
(Al Baqara, verse 83)
Allah the almighty says:
“…. They asked thee what they should spend (in charity) say: whatever ye spend that is good, is for parents and kindred, and orphans and those in want and for the wayfarer”
(Al Baqara, verse 215)
In the Hadith Our Prophet (PBUH) said “He who strokes an orphan on the head out of mercy Allah shall reward him for every single hair his hand passed on”. Narrated by Ahmed and Ibn Hayan. Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) also said “Orphan sponsor and I are like these two, and pointed to his forefinger and middle finger”

Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charity Organization paid great attention to the orphans, where the Organizations Articles of Association in Chapter (2), Article (5) provided for the contribution to the establishment and support of hospitals, medical centers, health rehabilitation houses, ambulance societies, orphanages, children care, old aged and handicap centers.
Furthermore, the optimal realization of the Organization goals, Article (6) of the same Chapter provided for “the translation of some of the Organization goals into permanent charitable programs with specific procedures and executive steps”. The Organization intended to put such directions into practice by adopting the medical assistance program, study scholarship programs and has recently introduced the Hajj assistance program and the Orphans sponsoring program within this framework.
This came to reality as approved by Board of Trustees meeting no. 18 held in year 2003 and allocated Dhs. 500,000/- per annum for sponsorship of a number of orphans within the UAE, in coordination with the U.A.E. Red Crescent Society. The amount was then increased to Dh. 1.5 million / year in the following year and transferred to UAE Red Crescent Society in year 2007.
