Astronomy Clubs
Astronomy Clubs is an idea came from JAS, which aims to spread the astronomical knowledge among school students, who represent a big percentage of the people in Jordan. So far, 19 clubs were established in governmental, private, and UNRWA schools. Each club has a president, who is chosen from the students, and a supervisor chosen from the teachers. JAS supports these clubs by giving lectures, observing nights, astronomical camping, ...etc. Further more, JAS organizes an annual festival for these clubs, in which each club shows its achievements, and it ended by a seminar.
* Some remarkable achievements the clubs did:-
Publishing a periodical astronomy magazine by the members of the club, such as the following clubs: Horizon, Al-Farqadan, Astronomical Observation, Orbit, Venus, and Red Planet.
Trying to buy telescopes by the members' efforts, where members of Al-Farqadan club held a bazaar to collect the needed money to buy telescopes !
Giving astronomical lectures by the clubs' members in JAS, as well as in their own clubs.
