Project Context:
Due to the pressing demand from hospitals for health practitioners, and in view of the success in employing all graduates from an earlier training program with Cairo University, a second project has been developed with Ain Shams University.
Objectives:
The project will provide a 12-months theoretical and on the job-training for 30 male and female fresh graduates to become health practitioners, and to work in private hospitals across Cairo Governorate. Successful graduates will receive certification from the Faculty of Nursing, Ain Shams University.
Partners:
Faculty of Nursing, Ain Shams University, provides technical assistance and delivers tailor-made nursing courses. It delivers and hosts the theoretical and practical training for the 30 students, and provides certification. It also secures on-the-job training in private hospitals for trainees, in view of their employment in these institutions
Project Status:
The young men and women are currently undergoing their training and will be completing it by August 2003. Their on-the-job training and future employment has already been secured in some private hospitals, including Cleopatra, El Nozha, El Haram, and Ain Shams Teaching Hospitals (notably El Demerdash) and Abu Qir hospital in Alexandria
